Hi,
I am 35 weeks pregnant and think I may be experiencing preterm labour.
I have the following symptoms;
Increased,mucousy discharge,
Period-like abdominal pain,
Painless contractions,usually every 10 mins,
Lower back pain.
Do you think this is preterm labour and does anyone have any advice?
Thanks,
Xxx

I am not an expert but that is what I had when I went into labour. I would suggest getting to the hospital or your midwife ASAP! Dont take a chance, take it from me. I had my little man at 24 weeks. Go into see someone!

hi. I'm new to this forum but I'm having some issues. I'm only 22 weeks but 6 days ago my amnotic sack has a tear in it and I'm losing fluid and now I am in the hospital praying that I do not go into labor. Has anyone had any issues simpliar to this?

Hi, have never posted before as was too worried to talk about something I might never have had.

I went into labour at 28 weeks (exactly) never had a baby before so had no idea what to look out for. This is in no way supposed to scare anyone, if anything I think sometimes forums can worry people for no reason. I would, however, always say that if you're in any doubt whatsoever, get yourself to the hospital.

My 'labour' lasted from Thursday to Saturday. It started with very mild back pain. Thought nothing of it. Thursday evening, felt like something was going to fall out down below. Thought it was just the baby getting bigger and pressing down. Friday thought I was constipated, that was the kind of pain. Friday night, fall out feeling again. Saturday morning, mucous plug comes away when I'm at the toilet. Thought it was preg discharge (I'll know it if I ever see that plug again what's going on) Flushed it. Pains started, every ten minutes or so thinking back but wasn't counting. Phoned the hosp as starting to put 2 and 2 together. They said don't panic, take your time and come in and see us. So went for shower, dried my hair, got the GHD's out to tame my mane, and then the biggest pain ever. I had to sit down and I've got quite a high pain threshold. I thought this can't be it. Phoned for lift to hurry up. In car, pain every 4 minutes. Got to hosp. Waited half an hour. Pain. Got to see doc, put monitors on for a while, said the baby had heart decelerations (still wasn't believing my baby was coming) and they'd do a section asap. Asked to go to the loo for pee. Blood. Hobbled back to bed, anti d jabs, steroid jabs and taken to threatre for spinal. Baby out.

Welcome Holly x

It's very unlikely. Both me and my LO were extreme preemies (I was 29 weeks, LO was 27 weeks)but both for very different reasons
