Are you a parent of a 4-8 year old? Please help us to understand child anxiety.
Our names are Helen and Gizem and we are postgraduate students working with experts on child anxiety at the University of Reading to complete a study about anxiety in young children.
On average, one child in every classroom is experiencing anxiety that significantly affects their day-to-day life. Currently we donít know much about anxiety in young children but we are hoping to learn more by asking mums and dads of 4-8 year olds about their experiences of parenting as well as their childís confidence and anxiety levels. We are interested to hear from parents whose children show a range of confidence or anxiety levels and with this information we hope to help prevent children from having problems with anxiety as they grow up.
The study is conducted entirely online and consists of a few questionnaires that will take about 20 minutes to complete. Ideally we need both parents to complete the questionnaires independently as we think both parentsí experiences are important. You donít need to do them at the same time, you can both follow the link independently to complete them at a time that suits you. Single parents are also welcome to participate.
For taking part each parent will be entered into a prize draw to win £50 of vouchers for Debenhams!

Taking part is entirely voluntary and you can stop participating at any stage. The data will be treated confidentially and the results will be used as part of MSc projects in Psychology at the University of Reading.
