I don't really know anymore than what I just googled, but it said:

"SCH or Subchorionic Hematoma is a gathering of blood between the membranes of the placenta and the uterus. A more technical name is the chorion. Some doctors will also just refer to it as a blood clot"

If you Google it, it brings up a wealth of factual knowledge regarding it. I as going to link some but some of the information is on other baby sites and I didn't want to get in trouble!

thank you sweetie....trying to find out as well if members here went all the way with the pregnancy as my doctor warn me for possibilties of going into labor way early or rupture of placenta...

hevz had something like this, she had a cyst on her placenta near the cord. dont think its quite the same thing, but she might have some advice xx

I have this mines 6.7cmx1.8cm ive been warned that i could go into pre-term labour again (i have history of placenta abruption), i had a massive bleed at 11wks and have had small bleeds since. Im constantly worrying about bleeding always wear a sanitary towel when i go out, i was told you would bleed throughout pregnancy and proberly have an abruption later on, the bleed can absorb into your system or can just say there.

I was diagnosed with a sch at 14 wks when I hemorrhaged very badly. Mine measured 9 cm x 6cm...thats considered very large. I am at a greater risk of preterm labor and premature rupture of the membranes because the blood puts pressure on the amniotic sac,and the blood is very irritating to the uterus. Since the first bleed I have had 2 more, but they were much smaller than the 1st one. My doctor put me on modified bedrest with no lifting at all!! and if I have another bleed I am to go on complete bedrest until it stops. I have been having weekly ultrasounds and as of yesterday the sch has gone down to 4.5 cm from 9:) the bedrest is working! thank you girls....i think mine is on the small size around 2 .5 cm but i am sure exactly if i have the correct number...

i had 10 days ago a massive bleed with clots coming out and then it stop couples days to have a other bleed mid week....and then i had to go to the ER on saturday since my bleeding was really heavy lasted until monday night 5 pm ...we did a scan on tuesday and we found the Hematoma...i wonder if mine was bigger and shrink after the bleeding...i was bleeding a lot ...

I had a subchronic hematoma at 9 weeks and then again at 15 weeks. my doc told me that its basically harmless and is a collection of blood outside of the pregnancy that is expelled from ur body b/c it doens't belong. During my scan, it wasn't much although he didn't measure it. he told me that while it looked scary, not to worry. he also told me that i may see it again the more pregnant I get and the more pressure my uterus gives on my body and in some cases can cause preterm labor...
