Labour signs - different for each of your babies?
 
My first labour at 38 weeks had no warning signs, didn't lose my plug, no upset stomach, nothing to indicate it was to start. My waters broke and 4hrs later she had arrived.
For me the only thing I can look out for is my waters breaking as an indication... but as all pregnancies are different, are labour signs too?
Did your subsequent labours all start the same way as your first?

I had a very similar birth with my first, no signs apart from waters gushing! I've been told that your waters going is not too common and that for most labours it doesn't start that way so I would assume that you might get cramps/pain before you get other signs this time. My second was induced so a completely different birth.

With my first DD I woke up one morning feeling like had to go the toilet and had a very intense bm, my stomach was very sore but i never thought anything of it until 10 mins later when i got my first contraction that hit me like a truck. When the same thing happened with my second DD i knew it was time. Intense bm followed by sore period type cramps that got worse and worse until it raidiated right round my stomach and back x

My first labor started with my water breaking
My second actually started with what I thought were my usual Braxton hicks and they had to stop it. 2 weeks later my water broke and my twins were born
I have no idea what to expect this time, I was really expecting the water breaking and I really wish it would happen now!

All four of my labors have been very different from one another. I never had a doubt, though, that I was in labor when I truly was.

DS1 my labor started very slowly as pulsating cramps across my back. They slowly progressed to obvious contractions I could time. He came about 20 hours later. My water didn't break until I was 10 cm.

DS2 my labor started with period like cramps. I went to the hospital and was 3 cm and they sent me home. Half an hour later just after arriving back home, I progressed so fast and had a huge bloody show and an ambulance had to take me back. I gave birth within 15 minutes of arriving at the hospital, going from 3cm-10cm in a total of less than an hour. Once again, water didn't break until 10cm.

I never lost my mucus plug with either (at least that I noticed). My only sign was the cramping

With my first I woke up with contractions at 2am after zero signs, was in hospital around 9am when my waters broke. When checked a few days before she was engaged and ready to go all was favourable.

With my second I had twinges all day then my waters broke at 6.30pm. The contractions really kicked in then. I'd had a sweep the day before but it didn't look likely and he didn't engage until I was well established in labour.

I had no show with either.

I was surprised as I expected both to be the same.

My first I had a bloody show on weds morn and mild contractions in the evening, very slow progress as I finally have birth just after midnight on fri.

My second one was different, I only lost small amounts of mucus plug and on the day I gave birth I thought I was feeling more "Bh contractions" so didn't think much of it,I also had a bm an hour before before I went in to gave birth at 12:34am

With my first, I woke in the morning 40+3 after a BIG sleep in (I felt exhausted). When I stepped out of bed, baby had noticeably dropped because the pressure was incredible. Not painful, it just honestly felt like his head was sticking out (it wasn't lol). I went to the toilet and when I wiped I had my bloody show so I had a shower. 3hrs later mild contractions started but they were pretty far apart 15-20 mins.

Over the course of the next 36 hrs my contractions built in intensity and I went to the Hospital 3 times because the pain was pretty bad but they kept sending me home because I wasn't 4cm yet. When I finally reached 4cm they admitted me and I had my son another 12hrs later at 40+5.

I'm due with #2 in 5 weeks and by God, I hope this labour has no similarities whatsoever!

I've only had the one but I felt off for about two or three days before it started. Mild period cramps only around the end.
