Codeine in pregnancy?
Been to the Dr's this morning and hes prescribed me Codine... 4 a day to ease the pain in my hips as i can barely walk, how ever i spoke to my manager at work and she had the same problems, aparently baby can gt addcted to it?!?!

Anyone know ANYTHING about this? as id rather not take if its putting my LO at risk x

it can pass through the placenta, my doc prescribed it 4 me but said only 2 use it when i felt i really had 2
i dont think they would give it to you if it was going to seriously effect LO.
not sure tho i took 2 and i felt like id had a bottle of wine i couldnt function in work properly so i stuck 2 paracetomol

They don't like to give it to you unless they have to but I've had to take it a couple of times for various reasons and I know what you mean about not wanting to put buba at risk. At the end of the day though the dr wouldn't give you anything that would harm LO.x

It's just what's in co-codamol and they give you that for early labour in some hospitals. I have taken it for spd before so it is totally fine.

They gave it to me when I was admitted really early on. Had all my scans since and all been ok.

I had a cold medicine prescribed to me with Codine in it and it definetly made me nervous so I went with go ol' Tylenol. But if the doctors says its ok then I would just take it when you absolutely need it.
