Scan tomorrow...

I'm going for my scan tomorrow to check my ovaries etc. The main thing they are checking for is PCOS. I'm not sure how likely it is I have this as my only symptom is absent periods since stopping the pill.

I guess its nothing new as lots of people have had this type of scan but am a little nervous but also excited that it might get the ball rolling.

Does anyone know if they tell you there and then if you have PCOS or do I have to wait til I go back to my doctor the following week?

Hi yazzy
they told me there and then that I had cysts which were consistent with pcos I then went back to my doc to discuss the results.
Good luck! X

Thanks ineedaseed.

Have just been for my scan and the person doing it talked me through it all and said everything is perfectly normal as it should be. I asked about PCOS and he said the scan shows I do not have it and also from a clinical point of asking me questions and looking at me again I do not show any symptoms of it.

Obviously I still do not know why I haven't had any periods since coming off the pill but I feel relieved to know all is ok from the scan.

Wishing you all the best and for your bfp!

Really glad your scan went well and that you don't have PCOS.

Have you got any other tests coming up? X

Hayz1981 - before going for the scan I had blood tests for hormone levels, anaemia and thyroid but this all came back normal. My doctor then said he would put me forward for the scan and follow up treatment would depend on the results so at the moment I am not sure what other tests he may want carried out. He did say he could give me something to start my AF.

I am really pleased with the help my doctors have given me as although I haven't been trying long they have been really supportive and pushed ahead with tests. Its so frustrating not having AF though as I don't feel I can say i'm trying yet!

Obe - I stopped taking the pill in October so it is just coming up for 6 mths. I know it isn't long compared to alot of people but because i've not had AF at all it is a little worrying.

Obe, how long did it take for your AF to return?
