Clomid - Overstimulation - Help!

Hi ladies,

I am after some advice....

This is my 2nd cycle of clomid (50ml 2-6) after my mc 6 months ago on clomid. (Overstimulation with 1st cycle but only 1 baby)

I woke this morning with lots of twinges, did my CBFM and got a Peak! It is only CD13 and my first follicle tracking scan was not until tomorrow. I called the fertility unit and they booked me in for a scan first thing.

The results were interesting and I have lots (well 7 actually) of follies as a result of the clomid. I have:

2 @ 25mm,
1 @ 14mm,
2 @12 mm,
2 @ 10mm.

The nurse said that realistically I probably have 3 potential eggies and officially should not try this month becuase of the risk of multiple births. But to be honest I was not even supposed to be having tracking this month so would not have known.

What do you think I should do? Risk it? or not!

Kel x

Hello
I just came across this post and wanted to firstly say I wud go for it,im a twin, they run in my mums family, her sister had identical twin girls too!! My hubbys mum is a twin and she has twin brothers and his sister has just had twin girls
So our FS warned us of that last wk but we laughed and explained our families histories,he turned around and said this journey cud b fun!! I personally wudnt mind if i had multiple babies!
I also wanted to ask you if you knew does everybody on Clomid have follicle trackin scans?Cant rememeber him mentioning it to us last wk at appointment?Wud like to think we wud,
Thanks xxBabyC

Arr thanks ladies! I think everyone agrees I should just go for it! Spoke to DH last night and we did (i'm scared now lol)!

Babyc: Sounds like your treatment is going to be fun! The follicle tracking is not something that everyone gets...I think it depends on your local health authority and your FS. The only reason I got it this time is because I overstimulated (8 follicles) on my first cycle of clomid - back in April. When I went back to see the FS he thought he better track me to monitor the follicles. I took my clomid on CD2-6 again this cycle...which does produce more follicles. Speaking to the nurse yesterday I think they are thinking of reducing my dose next month (If I need it!). It might be worth calling your local fertility clinic if you are worried..... when do you start yours?

I would have done the same thing, I think the chances of multiples are low, even with 3 eggs.

Twins would be a double blessing though, I'd love them!!

Good luck hun! Fx for you! xx
