Lap and Dye Recovery Time and Holidays

Hi there, I have my first lap and dye scheduled for Dec 22 and I've been reading lots of different recovery times. It's pretty close to Christmas to have this done and I usually have my immediate family over supper on Christmas eve and then we go to another family members house after. Then the next day I have 2 family dinners to attend. I'm a bit nervous about over doing it so soon after the surgery and wonder if I should tell people now that there is a chance I won't make to some of the events and maybe won't be able to host the Christmas eve supper.

I think I'm just getting nervous because it's getting close and I don't want to be stressed out about anything after, I just want to give myself loads of time to rest. Am I being overly nervous?

I was sore after mine, but never needed any pain meds. The worst part was I was so tired after the aneasthetic. if you rest inbetween events you could be fine. you might need to leave some early though.

good luck and enjoy christmas

I had my lap on a Thursday and was back at work on a Monday.

The gas pains had worn off by Saturday I would say.

You will probably just be tired as it takes it out of you.

Good luck.

I had mine on a friday and went back to work on tuesday. The only pain that I had was in my right shoulder. I had to sleep sitting up for 3 nights, but other than that, it wasn't too bad.

Thanks everyone, I've decided to just do what I can and not get stressed over it if I can't handle something. My family will understand if I'm not the perfect hostess or guest this Christmas
