| DH Low Testosterone, LH & FSH and sperm count
Hi
I'm new to the forum and just wondered if anyone has gone through (or is still going through) similar problems as my husband and I.
We've been TTC for 2 years now (5 years if you count when I stopped taking BC - but 2 years "properly").
My husband has recently been diagnosed with low testosterone and has started Testogel once a day. Has anyone else's DH been prescribed this and know whether it's affected sperm counts? Doctors have said it shouldn't do but from what I've read it does, so very confused.
DH has recently had an MRI scan of his brain as the consultant suspects a pituitary gland tumour due to low FSH and LH levels. We are currently awaiting the outcome of the scan but our GP told us yesterday that from the report he has received, a swelling has been found on the pituitary but we don't know what this means so waiting for a hospital appt with consultant!
My husband has also had two SA and both have come back as being low count with low motility and morphology issues. GP has said that it only takes 1 sperm to get pregnant but I can't help thinking that's being overly optimistic! He has finally agreed to refer us to fertility clinic though (after 8 months of tests and pushing so keeping fingers crossed appt will come through soon).
Does anyone have any similar experiences and can share their knowledge?
It's obviously a very stressful time because my DH's health is the most important thing right now and I want him to get back to normal as having LT has really affected him and I know he's extremely worried about the pituitary tumour and is convinced he's going to die (though from the little I've read, it's treatable and in majority of cases is benign) - but on the other hand, we aren't getting any younger and are both desperate for a family - so ideally I want to try and get both things working together in terms of hospital consultants/depts so we can work on his hormone issues as well as do the best we can in terms of raising sperm count levels and conceiving.
Apologies for the long post but it's hard to get any answers at the moment and it would really help to talk to people who are going through the same thing.
