HSG, how much did you pay?

Hello ladies,

I'm just wondering how much you paid for your HSG. I live in Brisbane, Australia and have been referred to Queensland Ultra Sound for Women for mine. I am told it will be $500 with a $178 Medicare rebate.

I found some older posts on here saying that it only cost $200-$300 and with the rebate you are only $150 or so out of pocket...

Has anyone had one recently and what did you pay? If you paid less then please tell me where you went because I can't seem to find out where or who else even does them in Brisbane.

Many thanks for any information you have.

Big hugs and baby dust to all

XXx

$425 out of pocket. My insurance may not cover it. I'm not sure what it will be if it's covered.

Ah crap, you live in the U.S.? I have Kaiser. I have 50% infertility coverage but even $1,000 is expensive for an HSG.

I was already shocked at the total cost for an IUI.

This sucks.

Did they say you had to do 4-6 office visits and 4-6 ultrasounds per IUI cycle? That is what they are saying to me. Basically, I added it all up, and it comes out to like $1,000 for one unmedicated IUI cycle. And that is with 50% off

I didn't do all those office visits etc. I did 2 us last round (but really only needed one) this round I did one before to make sure I didn't have cysts before starting femara and then I'll have one day 12 to plan the trigger as I dont seem to have luck with the opks. I've heard kaiser can be a bit of a factory. My place is just two docs and you only see the one you are working with. My doc is pretty big on limited management. He actually did a project in fellowship on lowering costs etc to allow all income levels to participate.
