Gift for newborn

I have a bit of a dilema! I need a gift for a newborn baby girl by Friday, and I have next to no money! My sister has just had a baby and originally I was going to get the baby a customised cloth nappy which I hadn't bought as I was waiting to see if she actually did use cloth, and I wasn't expecting the baby to be here yet, or for my sister to want anyone to visit before Christmas, but now she does and has invited us. I'll feel bad not taking anything! I'm unsure about buying clothes because we have very different tastes, and I'm not sure she'd appreciate a teddy or anything. What do I buy?!

What about a book ? I love books and they are cheap and easy to get. If you want to spend more get a couple or a really nice hard back one.

If it is paper you could write in it that it is from you on her first christmas.
