Ex's rights

My ex is on my daughters birth certificate. I'm aware that this means he has equal rights? But I look after her all week. He sees her for 24 hours 3 times a month.

If I request to have time off school during term time, and he disagrees, can he stop it going through even if the school agree? She's only 4.

i think he can, from what i gather, you are both equal with choices. when i was asking my fob to be on my daughters bc, my friend told me its prob best he isnt, as he has full rights when choosing schools, leaving the country etc.

im only guessing but if he has doubts and phones the school, then mayb they will rethink their decision. im only going by what i think and what iv been told.

hope this helps

Yeah, until the term after she is 5 she doesn't legally have to be there.

I'll speak with them tomorrow. I've calmed down now. If he makes me have to re-arrange then so be it. I'll still be the one waking up with her on her birthday

I always found this very odd? Does that mean that if your ex disagrees with your school choice, or holiday location he can stop you from taking your child or sending your child there? I know they have a say in medical decisions if they're on the birth certificate, but surely he'd have to have a reason about the school or holiday? X
