guardian question

Hello

I don't have any contact with fob and he is not on the birth certificate.

Does anyone have any experience (or knowledge) of having something written up from a solicitor which would name someone as legal guardian if anything happened to me?

I was thinking of phoning a solicitor but I would have no idea what I'm asking for so thought I'd ask in here first xx

Hiya!

I made a will! Im in the same situation, no fob on BC, and he doesnt see her.

In the will it says that if i die, she will be going to my mum and dad, with a small statement from me saying why etc. The solicitor said that if he wanted to get custody of her, he would have to take my parents to court, as my wishes would over rule as he is not on the BC.

Im thinking of going back actually to review my statement a bit, as he has only seen her twice, and he hasnt seen her for over a year now. So i want to add this in!

x

If something happens to me, both Mollie and Katie go to my ex.

He is a good Dad, but you can make arrangements to see a solicitor to sort out where you want your LO's to go.

If you don't have anything in place the child will be placed in foster care until they can contact a member of your family, your FOB wouldn't have a leg to stand on as he hasn't had any contact.

In my case even if I did have a will which stated children went to my mum, FOB would contest and it will most probably win unless my mum can prove they are better off with her which we all know is right but he wouldn't have that.

Thanks hun

They would be able to contact my mum pretty much immediately if anything happened and she see's my son most days, especially since she looks after him two of the days I work.

I think I'll still make a will just to have it in place. The thought of my son being in foster care doesn't sit well at all!

FOB has never met my son, he broke up with me when I was 4 weeks pregnant and cut all contact.

It's ridiculous he would get custody of your girls even though your mum would much better xx
