Hello, I haven't posted much however thought that maybe I would share my LTTTC success story and add some hope for some of you ladies.
Me and OH had been trying to conceive for just over 3 years and were finally referred to a fertility specialist last April '10. I was tested and was told I was not ovulating. I was also told I was overweight (which I was aware of), 13st 8lb and 5'4". This kick started me into a healthy diet and by February 11' I had managed to lose just under 2 and a half stone. OH had subsequent sperm tests which varied in results although he does have another underlying issue. At his final sperm test his count was 12 million. He was then referred for further testing relating to his underlying issue. Meanwhile in Sept '10 I had a Lap and Dye test which showed there was no other problems other than me not ovulating. However, due to the fact that my OH was awaiting further examinations our fertility specialist refused to start me on clomid until this was resolved. She said it would be a waste of money and would have to discharge me until the OH had been treated . I immediately assumed that this meant it would be another number of yrs down the line until we got anywhere closer to !
Once we had been told this we sort of stopped trying so to speak and just concentrated on us. Then I was due my on the 20th February, approx 4 yrs after TTC, and I had literally one spot of fresh red blood but no period followed although I expected it to. As nothing appeared for the next couple of days I decided to do a test.
And low and behold, on February 24th 2011, 4 yrs after TTC I finally got my ! And although I still don't quite believe it I am 7 weeks pregnant tomorrow! I have my first midwife appointment on Monday and although I am very aware it is still early I am quietly on and praying that everything goes ok...
Sorry for rambling on so much, and if you've made it to the end of this then well done !
I wish you all luck with your TTC and to each and every one of you!
