Sometimes they think things through in ways you didn't expect... *

To put this in context - Maria has a picture matching game which increases in difficulty, from matching the tiles to the same picture, to then matching it to a more complex picture that puts it into context e.g. the tile with the picture of a shoe is matched to a picture of a person showing off their new shoes

Well one tile is a picture of a pig, and she was supposed to match it to a picture of a pig standing with a farmer but instead she saw a picture of a pork chop on a plate (for the plate tile, obviously) but she followed the logic all that way that a pig becomes a pork chop!!

Then we go to walk downstairs, I take her hand to help her and she says 'no I a big girl no help mummy' and walked down with no help and me panicking incase she fell!! Kid logic lol

We've had that backfire too! I told Micah that he was a big boy for using the toilet, later that day we're at the park and all of a sudden he swung from one of the monkey bars without me there, and fell. I was shocked and felt awful because I'd been on the wrong side to catch him as normally he knows not to go on them because they're 'for big boys'.. Through his tears he told me "I am a big boy now like with my wee wee!" oops!

Toddlers are smarter than we give them credit for. They may not have as much knowledge to draw from but are also not as bias.
