Overnight..

Well I live in the US (just saying that because I dont know if its any different in the UK) and I was wondering who you had stay overnight? I want the FOB to obviously, and I know he will, but I was just wondering if more than one person could stay overnight, like a parent?? If not, can they visit in the middle of the night because they are my parents?? I was confused at my birthing class when she tried to explain it because the way she made it sound was like whoever is in the delivery room can visit whenever they want...but me and my OH just want it to be just us the delivery room, but I want my parents and OHs parents to be able to visit whenever they want.

I apologize if this didnt make much sense...It seems a little confusing

are you talking about in the hospital? while i was in labour I had a bunch of people come at random times, no one but my birthing partner (my mom) was allowed in my room tho, i had to go to the waiting room until i gave birth then after I had no one spend the night with me.
ask your hospital, it probs different everywhere
9 more weeks to go, exciting!

When my nephew was born, they stayed obviously in the maternity ward of the hospital and there actually was an extra bed for the dad! so my brother stayed with his girlfriend and all the visitors were allowed whenever they want. idk where you live, i'm in Florida, but here its pretty nice for the dads to stay overnight theres usually an extra bed. if not, theres a nice pull out couch. i'm sure he can stay the night!
i'm planning on having my OH there overnight as well.

I think it depends on the hospital, because I know I stayed with my mom when she had my one brother, as did my dad and grandma. But with the youngest none of us could stay overnight.
Maybe just try explaining that you want your mom/dad to stay with you as well as FOB, but you just want FOB in the delivery room.

Unfortunately all hospitals are different. I'd suggest ringing them and ask. The worst they can do is say no.

over here in the uk noone can stay overnight (not in the hospitals in my area) and and visitors are only allowed at visiting hours, although your partner is aloud to be with you from 8 til 8.If you give birth in the night they let your partner stay with you and baby for a couple of hours and then they got to go then

Yep same as above for my hospital, think you could have 2 birthing partners but no one could stay over night...I had my DD at 11:42pm, by the time I was cleaned up and sent to the post natal ward it was 2am, OH was sent home straight away, all I wanted was abit of a cuddle and some company , I felt sooo emotional after I gave birth to both my babies!!

x
