Dumb question

So do I HAVE to wash all LO's clothes, and blankets?
It's not that I'm lazy or anything, 6 people live in my house so I do laundry every day.
I'm just wondering whats the point in it?
Also, do I wash the blankets, sheets, and bumber that I bought for the crib?

Sorry for my stupidnesss
I'm so clueless

Yes, you need to wash everything! including bibs, socks, washclothes, towels, and all his clothes and all his crib bedding.

Babies skin is very delicate and it could react badly with something that an outfit has on it from the store AND you have to wash all of this in special baby soap like dreft.

well you don't have to worry about washing yet i started washing my daughters clothes when i was about 34-35 weeks, because i felt weird about it sitting in the drawers for a while. but yes you should wash mostly everything before LO comes.
sheets, blankets, wash too, but you don't have to wash the bumper (i never did at least)

i have eczema so i know my daughter would have sensitive skin too (which she did) so i washed with extra sensitive baby wash.

and don't feel dumb! everyones a first time mom at some point.

Yes, yes, yes. Make sure to use Dreft or something similar!

Yes, I did.
It was just in the store, or someone else had it. So either way there is going to be germs and a scent on it.
I am washing EVERYTHING of my son's in a couple of weeks (about a month before he comes).

I'd start a little earlier than that... I washed all mine after I got released from the hospital (preeclampsia) at 32 weeks. Once you get bigger you'll be more tired and uncomfortable... and less likely to want to do laundry. You'll want to be prepared, too, incase LO decides to make an early appearance.

Thank you for this... I didn't know that one must wash baby clothes before baby arrives. Can you buy special detergent at BabiesRUs?
