Baby shower!

Im thinking of having a baby shower with a few friends.

Have any of you girls thought about having one or have had one?would love too know what sort of things you had to eat/drink and somethings you talked about.

Any Recipes for cakes, buns etc that we could make would be very much appreciated!

I would love to have one this time!

My friend had one a couple of weeks ago, just had a little buffet and basically everyone brought a gift and she opened them all together and everyone took photos. Some people had a glass of wine but I had DS with me (wasn't preg at the time) x

I'm having mine in the next 2 weeks. For food we are trying to go cheap and easy because me and DH have to pay for it, and we don't even really have money to spend on food ourselves. We are going to do Pizza, Salad, sandwiches, cake, and chips. I wish we had more money to spend on this though.... Oh and our theme is ducks.

i believe i'm having one although my family believe i shouldn't - they believe in jinxing the pregnancy and all that pffffft!

for mine i would like all of my friends, girls and guys so not your traditional women only baby shower and probably have nibbles for food and party food like pizza, sausage rolls, salad etc. for the fact that we're quite tight on cash at the moment. but we've still got a while until it has to be arranged yet

You should have one! I was in and out of the hospital during my third trimester, so I didn't get to have one. I really wish I would have, though. If you google it, you can find some really cute ideas!

We had one, well kind of.
We went out for an all you can eat chinese, must say that was money well spent! We had both girls and guys there, they all brought presents for Riley but we used it more of a night out with our friends rather than a full on baby shower as there not really common over here.. Was still a lovely night

I've had one, and I have another next sunday (OH's family, now my friends and family) and it was fun. The first one the hostess made homemade mexican food, which was really good, and a friend of OH's made the cake.

This time my mum is making food. Simple Caesar salad, melon salad with a ginger lemon dressing, and I believe a pasta? You could also do a potluck kind of thing, just ask a few family members to bring some type of salad, dessert, snack, and then you make the main course.

My baby shower wont be for a while but my mom & sister are gonna throw me one . We'll probably have like a cook out at a park if the weather is nice & my dad loves to make barbeque so we'll have ribs , chicken , potatoe salad , that kind of stuff . I don't have many guy friends so i think i'll just invite my girl friends
