So sick of swelling

I swear to god my feet look like sasquachs. (spelling? lol). I usually have really big arches in my feet, but they're so swollen I'm flat footed. It hurts to walk. Hell it hurts just to stand up. My toes look like damn sausages.

Any of you girls know any ways to help reduce swelling?

Hi there,

A bit of swelling is common in pregnancy but if it excessive swelling you may want to talk to your midwife about it, it may be a condtition called Pre-eclampsia. As for any advice i dont really have any didnt want to read and run.

I had a lot of swelling, just keep your feet elevated as much as you can.

But as the PP said, swelling can be caused by a condition called pre-eclampsia. I would explain your concern about your swelling the next time you visit your doc.

I've got HORRENDOUS swelling, it's so bad it's gotten to the "pitting edema" point, which means that if you push down on it with your thumb for a second, it leaves an indention.

As the others have said, it is common with preeclampsia. In fact, my doctor thinks I might have it as well.

Drink loads of water and watch your sodium intake, this is crucial. As someone who suffered from preeclampsia, you should speak to your doctor about your swelling. Preeclampsia can be life threatening so always good to monitor it.

I've heard foods like Pineapple, Blueberries, Brocoli and Sweet Potatoes have anti-inflammatories in them... Pineapple being a good source!

Also, Omega-3 supplements help alot too! They are fish oils, which really help swelling!

^^ water is really important too, keeps your body hydrated and gets rid of toxins... try to do little exercises, it might hurt at first, but itll get your blood circulating!

I've do what the other girls have said, keep hydrated, and get checked out for pre-eclampsia just in case, as it can be life threatening to you and LO if not picked up/it gets into the later stages. Hope it's nothing though! Let us know! xx
