Glucose Test?

With my first pregnancy, things were a whole lot different. Did anyone have to fast before taking their Glucose? Fast as in,not being aloud to eat or drink anything past midnight the night before the test and not until the test is complete I had to fast for surgeries before but being pregnant now its making it hard lol. They also arent giving me that orange drink before the glucose test....weird...does this sound right to anyone? How did your glucose test go?

I had mine at 28 weeks. I wasn't allowed to eat anything after 10pm. Then they took my bloods, gave me the horrid drink and made me wait for two hours. After the time was up I had more bloods and gave them a pee sample. Then I stuffed my face with food.

I had the drink and I didn't have to fast, but my mum had to do what you are doing. She could never keep the drink down without getting sick, so the doctor said that if she just fasted all night, he could just take her blood without making her drink the drink and determine it from that.

I haven't had my official glucose test yet,
but I did have a scare where my blood sugar was a little high
so I had to fast starting at midnight and go to the doctor
first thing in the morning to get blood work done to see
what my glucose level was like.

But my doctor was telling me, when I get the official
glucose test at around 28 weeks, I will have to fast starting the night before
and the next day get blood drawn, drink that nasty drink,
wait two hours and get blood drawn again.

I did have to fast, and drink that nasty orange stuff! Thank god my appointment was at 9:00am or I would have starved to death! But I think they make you fast because if you eat something like a honey bun for breakfast, your sugars will obviously be high.

Why did they do yours so early? I thought they only gave this test between 26 and 28 weeks!

nothing's been mentioned about my glucose test yet!!
i was speaking to my friend who's 14 weeks + she's booked hers, i know the one thing she was concerned about was fasting so i presume you have to
it's a bit weird how they're not giving you the orange thing before hand though maybe they're giving you something else?

I never had one where I had to drink anything, they just took bloods at my 28 appointment and tested it with everything else.. Not too sure if that's the same though
