This is such a long story so I keep it short but our land lady is kicking us out which she just can't do!
We're moving into our new house on the 20th, it was delayed a week from the 13th.
When I informed her we had brought a house I asked if she wanted written notice that we would be leaving and she said no...fair enough whatever (which with written notice she doesn't really have a leg to stand on) , a date was never agreed for us to move out cos we've never had one, I've just told her roughly when and what my solicitors have told us. She was being a nice about it saying "stay as long as you need" so I've kept her updated the whole way through, painted her shitty walls cos they we're covered in mould, had to throw away all our shoes cos they went mouldy in her fitted wardrobes, lived with condensation running down the walls, getting into a damp bed every night, nothing ever being fixed
And as soon as she finds new tenants she won't even tell them they've got to wait an extra week for us to move out cos "they've booked a van and time off work". Not caring that a family with a 2year old and an unborn baby homeless!
The solicitors don't open until tuesday after the easter holidays but I'm going to get legal advice off them.
Everyone we've spoken to says she can't do it! And they we have every right to stay until we need to and of I wasn't pregnant I'd squat her for weeks on end just to piss her off but I have to think of Chloe who's picking up on it all and my baby cos I'm so stressed! Actually stressed isn't the word! All I've done is cry for days on end!
So my mom and dad have payed for removal and storage for a week and my brothers been very kind and given up his bed for me even though his not well with tonsillitis and OH's going to stop at his moms for a week.
I don't want her to feel like she's won but at the end of the day I have to think of my children So stressed and upset atm! But it'll all be worth it when we're in the new house!

you are right she can't kick you out.

i'm guessing ur rent must have covered the whole month so you paid for 10 days extra if you are leaving on the 20th?

i think your landlady is trying to be cheeky.

Yeah rents payed for the month aswell! And she will give it us back or I'll hammer down her bloody door! Our contract isn't even up until june and my dad said we're the sitting tenants and she has to accommodate us over someone she's hoping to move in and been as its her fault that she didn't want a written notice and the fact she just decided to move them in on a date she knew would be impossible for us to be out by. She was like "I'll move them in on the 7th" to which I replied but the house won't be completed by then but she still went ahead and told them the 7th was fine. Grrrr!

If your contract is until June, she can keep your deposit, and/or make you pay through June. If you have paid through the month though, she cannot kick you out until the end of the month.
