Have you been to a doctor yet?

first thing you need to do is go to the doctor and get your pregnancy confirmed.

smoking causes low birth weight in babies.. and if you are a heavy smoker, don't quit cold turkey.. I've heard of women miscarrying going from 2 packs a day to nothing.. if you want a healthy baby, slowly wean yourself off the cigarettes (I used to smoke, I know how hard it is).

your BMI doesn't mean your baby will be unhealthy, don't think that!

you'll be okay!

Sadly, yes. Your BMI shouldn't put you at too much of a risk as long as you talk to a doctor and make a plan to keep you and your baby healthy. I was a fairly heavy smoker before I found out I was pregnant, and yes it is hard, but personally I felt bad for it. It's not my baby's choice to smoke or not, so I didn't feel right about it. I've had maybe two or three my entire pregnancy so far,and that was only when I got super stressed. I am also close to being diabetic, but my PCOS plays a big factor in that--I was monitored and given blood tests frequently to watch my levels but I am fine, and my baby is very healthy.

Talk to your doctor about these concerns, for your health and your child's. They may refer you to a nutritionist or therapist to help with the diabetes and smoking, therapy can help relieve some of the stress by giving you an outlet. They'll probably want to watch you closely, but it's not bad.

Goodluck, I'm here if you ever want to talk
