Im not sure if shes my midwife, as she said she'd be part of a group who would be looking after me, but then she's booked my in for my 16wk appt with her so i presume she's the main one? Do you not see a regular midwife by you then?

Hmm, maybe then..
No, I live on a small island and there's a small group of midwives, very rare is there more than two people delivering at a time lol, so you see them all but it's fine because there's only a few of them you can 'bond' so to say with them all

Ooh thats quite nice! When are you due? Do you know what you're having? Where I live there's so many people pregnant at the moment, must be a shortage of midwives!

My midwife is part of a "team", too. I have an OB I see regularly, but I see the same nurse-midwife every time, too. It's mostly because there is only one OB on call in the hospital per shift, but a handful of midwives, so the chances of my midwife being there when I go into labour is decent

Sometimes appointments can feel rushed, always ask any questions though sometimes my OB rushes in and out and my MW sits with me and answers questions if she has to, or vice versa.

I'd like to have the same midwife with me at birth, I think i'd feel more comfortable. Got ages to worry about that yet though!

I got it done and it was really easy, they just take an extra next measurement at the scan and then they weigh you and take bloods afterwards. These are then put together to establish a risk. i got a letter in the post a few days later with my results which were like 1 in a couple of hundred thousand for one. can't remember the others.

But I would do it regardless so that if there was anything then you could prepare youself
