I'm no longer pregnant!

Because yesterday my little bambino made her surprising enterance into the world!

Alice was born weighing 6lbs7 on the 12th of April at 7:09AM. 5 days early, without any warnings! I started getting contractions at around half 12 in the morning, they were between 2 and 3 minutes apart lasting 30 seconds! My waters went about an hour after the contractions started. After a few phone calls to the hospital, we had to go to a different hospital from my original choice, and got there around 4, I think.

The midwife wanted to check my waters had gone so she checked with something she put in me, decided it was my waters and then checked to see if I was dilating. I was! I was 6cm! Complete shock! She then tried to check bambinos heartbeat but couldn't really get it so I was 'rushed' over to the delievery room and was monitered on the machine that measures baby's heartbeat, contractions, movement and my heartrate. When I looked at the clock it had just past 5. My contractions were slowly getting stronger so I started on the gas and air. Multiple times I got told I didnt look like I was in labour and that I must have a high pain tolerance!

I can't remember much that happened while on the gas and air. I remember feeling as though I wasn't in the room and drunk. I remember the pain getting stronger but moving from my front to my hips, and the urge to push was so incredibly strong I just couldn't stop myself! I kept shouting no at myself, but obviously that didn't work. I also kept apologising for shouting, but the midwife said I wasn't and told me off for saying sorry! I really couldn't help the shouting. I didn't want to shout but it was like I wasn't controlling it, like someone else was doing it for me!

Most of it is hazy because the gas and air, but after a while the midwife said I could push if I wanted to, I didn't hesitate! The urge was just TOO much to ignore. Lewis (OH) says that I was only pushing for half an hour, and apparently I powered through it! I got asked if I wanted to touch her head as it crowned, and if I wanted to see it but I refused! I just wanted her out! I let Lewis see, but said to the midwife only if I havent pooed lol! He actually looked! I didn't think he would! He actually watched her enterance. Alice was born, she was was put on me for skin to skin and Lewis even cut her cord! Im still surprised by that and the fact that I didn't tear!

Hope all your pregnancies are going well and sorry to the overdue girls!
