Hospital

How many times have you taken LO to the hospital? I remember reading that the HV was surprised that a child had only been twice to the hospital because he was raised by teen parents He was just over one.

Oliver has never been to the hospital.

Once because he had a bad reaction to the medication I was on and kept throwing up.

You mean like the HV thought he'd get in to more accidents with young parents?

Landon has only been at the hospital once in his life....and that's the day he was born and the few days after. Otherwise, I have never had to bring him there.

Apart from to be born () my LO has been to the hospital once because she needed steroids and monitoring for croup. Not exactly something you get just because you have young parents though

Yeah As in they should have more accidents than if they had older parents.

I am not sure why they direct it at teen parents but here (in MN) we have a care plan in action at most clinics because the majority of the people here on welfare bring their children to the ER instead of a clinic. Now, clinics are able to do A LOT more and we try to minimize the ER visits as it costs the care system loads of money. Clinics here are offering same day appts available for people that need to be seen who are very ill.

Unless it's actually a life threatening emergency, you should be able to go to the clinic.

I am not trying to start any controversy at all, this is just my opinion with the options we have here in MN. I see a lot of sick children and it's amazing what we are able to do for them in the clinic.

I've taken Isla to A&E twice (after phoning NHS 24 both times to see what I should do)
First, I cut the top of her finger off cutting her nails...
Last week I thought she broke her arm lol.

This would have been the same had I been 35 lol. I can't stop Isla from launching herself onto her stomach when she's sitting up all the time. Or being so fidgety cutting her nails.

Rory's banged his head a few times and fallen over when he's been sitting up but I'm not careless with him, and I don't think I'd be more cautious if I was older. Ridiculous really.
