Is she right or am I?

So whenever I visit OH I always brings Myles and since OH lives with his parents they are always around (Which is fine they are really nice) but whenever it comes to dinner time OH's mom starts saying what we are having for supper and that Myles can have some too. I am pretty sure Myles digestive system isnt ready for things like mashedpotatos (with butter, sault, seasonings etc) and things like roast I mean Myles has barely started eating mushed food
Am I just introducting food to slowly to Myles? Is it okay if he eats soft foods that are seasond?

i dont think potatoes would be bad, even with seasoning. If you're only doing TW, i would stay away from the roast though.

In my opinion, my daughter was eating full blown meals (whatever we were eating) by 7.5 months. We started with TW and ended up BLW and I didn't even know what it was! Mashed potatoes should be absolutely fine....I mean doesn't he eat pureed sweet potatoes? The meat, if he's never eaten solids I would wait, I didn't give my daughter meat until around 10 months.

Yes Ava would have a roast at 7 months, go easy on the seasoning though, but everything else is fine Even if you are TW just pop some meat and veg (mashed potatos would be harder) on his tray to play with.. he'll start to pick up having finger food really quickly x

Thanks everyone I guess I have to get use to my little man growing up (I worry that his digestive system wont be strong enough to handle normal food but apart of me kinda thought he should be eating more foods at his age.)

Now I wont worry so much when I do give him different foods to try

Brenna was solely on table food by 8 months, but every baby is different!

I'm sure you'll do what is best for your son x

We BLW Rory and he has whatever we have. It's actually meant to be great for their development as they're experiencing new things, it's good for their hand-eye coordination and it helps their speech to have solids. If you're not happy with it then just say, you're his mum so it's up to you, but don't worry about it harming him.

Just so you know, until i was a year old, i was exclusively breast fed cos thats what the doctors told my mom to do. So you do not have to give him ANY solid foods until about a year if you dont want to. But if you feel ready to, then go for it. I personally wouldnt be worried about seasonings unless its drenched in something.

I would just put some on a plate for him, chances are he will just lick it or play with it, or the good old game of throwing it around the room
