Stopping bottles..

I also posted this in baby club but I know there are alot of you who have older children.

My LO has stopped having bottles now.

Just wondering if you/you're letting LO decide or you're giving them a little help?

how do you girls manage it? i can't get kaya to give them up ... i've tried but there is just no luck, she won't take a sippy cup only a bottle with like a sports top lid for her juice/water and has to be a proper baby bottle for milk .... i want her off the bottles but she won't do it!!!! its driving me crazy!

she needs to have a bottle to go to sleep with .... won't take a dummy instead either, if she doesnt have the bottle then you can gaurentee there will be some major tantrums.

Help!?

I got rid of the nap ones first, did that for about a week so she got used to it, then just took the night ones away too.

I think you just have to do it cold turkey.

I started with her daytime bottle, using a beaker instead. Started using a straw one as that was the one most like a bottle teat. After a few weeks, she just kept asking for the beaker rather than a bottle for milk so it was just pot luck she self weaned.
