My 2 year old is not walking yet but he is seeing a physiotherapist every 2 weeks and has been since March. Hes progressed a little bit but not much. I just find it a very slow process. I thought with all the physiotherapy he would have been up and walking now. Can anyone give me any other tips to try and get him on his feet? Thanks.
He can bum shuffle, stand up when i pull him up. When hes standing he stands for about 30 secs. He can also kneel up to reach for toys etc. The physio has me putting him in a standing frame for 15 mins, he also has just got a walking frame. He does some steps it in but only a little at a time but he sometimes wont keep his hands on it making it hard. I also do leg stretches with him and try and put toys up high so he will kneel and reach for them. He also goes from sitting to standing with my help.
did the physiotherapist say anything or does he have a plan? are you happy with this one? maybe you can try another one? i dont have much advice though, does he walk when you hold hands with him? mine was able to walk for a long time before he started. but just wanted to walk me holding his hand for one month, before he let go. maybe you can try that?
another friend of mine, her son had some shorter muscles on the calf, so he got special shoes, he was able to walk in them.
