peeing in the potty....his tonka truck...his shape sorter..
Barry kept taking all his clothes and diaper off over and over again, for naps and bedtime we solved this problem by putting his sleepsuit on backwards.
During the day we decided to offer him his potty and see what he though...straight away he used it! 1st day 4 pees in potty, 1 accident on the floor.
today is day 3..or is day 4? dont know! but he'll act like he needs to pee, go grab one of his toys and stands up and pees on it! We tried taking him back to the potty, we watch for when he needs to go so as soon as he starts making like hes going to pee we put him infront of his potty (he doesnt sit to pee he stands), sometimes he'll then pee, but most of the time he'll run off and pee on a toy.
I have no idea what to do, the first 2 or 3 days went great then all of a sudden this!
He gets lots and lots of praise when he uses the potty and he points at it afterwards and says "wow!"
But no matter what we did today he kept running off and peeing on his toys
Sounds like he's standing when he goes on the potty? As I understand it many boys start off sitting when toilet training and learn the standing bit later. Maybe switch to sitting, it'll be harder to sit on his toys and pee I think.
Maybe also keep a potty in every room? Easy for you to grab quickly, but also he might go for that rather than a toy, if he can see it?
Hope that helps, I don't speak from any experience with boy's toilet training as I have a girl, but thought I'd chip in anyway lol.
