Hi, I thought I'd pose and question and introduce myself as I've not been on here in ages. My boy is 14 - almost 15 - months old and we're still using the high chair. I just wondered do you use a highchair, when did you stop using it and to be nosey, what pray do you use instead? Lots of questions!
We still use the high chair at almost 18mos- I'll use it as long as LO fits and doesn't try to climb out tbh. I love using the high chair as it's much easier to clean up her mess around than if she was at the table in a booster- plus, even in her booster she still seems a bit too low at our table. I also use it while she's having snacks and I'm in the kitchen etc... as it rolls- it's just easier and when she's hungry she'll run up to the high chair and reach her arms out to indicate she wants her food My niece still uses her often enough and she just turned 2yrs.
Just depends on the kid though- I know plenty of friends that stopped when their LO's were much younger and just had them in a booster or at the table.
Think we stopped using highchair around 1 and went onto a boster seat that we still use when we eat together as a family when just lo is eating or at lunch time he has his own little tabke and chairs to sit at
We use the high chair mostly in the week and the booster chair in the weekend as we're all home at the weekend so we can eat together in the dining room. But as he is getting older he actually prefers not to be in it so we tend to use his little table and chair and try and encourage him to eat there! We only use the booster chair if we are eating together as our dining room isn't next to the kitchen so we just end up running round the house!
Esther is nearly 3 1/2 and is still using a highchair. Although she has a Babydan chair which is designed to last from 6months til 7/8 years. She is still strapped into it as if she wasn't she would try to climb off when we were eating.
Daniel was around 2 when we moved him from the highchair to a booster seat and he still uses the booster seat at 5 1/2 as if he didn't he wouldn't be high enough up to eat comfortably.
Paige stopped using her highchair at about 23 months. We dont have a dining table so she eats at her little table and chairs, and I usually sit on one of her chairs beside her so we are eating together.
If we go out for food, she still goes in the highchair, as shes a bit low down if she sits on the normal chairs!
