Ours isn't as bad now we make the eldest tidy up after himself. He's now aware that picking up a box of lego isn't fun so he no longer makes a massive mess.

I imagine once the youngest gets on the move it'll start again

It's not filthy, but it is messy and cluttered. We have a pretty small house so it's actually pretty easy to clean, half a day of cleaning and it looks great! But it's full of things that don't really have a place. I need more shelves or closets or something lol.

My house is fairly tidy the majority of the time. We have 6 children so I need to keep on top of things ir it'd get really messy very quickly and Id then spend days tidying it up (bern there done that!)
Of course it's not perfect- it's lived in, it's by far a show home but it's orderly x

I hear you with the tumble drier and dishwasher!! I would be constantly rocking in a corner on the floor if I didn't have these two things!!

I do still rock in the corner from time to time even with these appliances! I just long for an empty laundry basket!

I know. So depressing when you feel like you're on top of stuff and then your kid instantly spills something dreadful down its clean clothes and all over the floor, etc. and your dog-trainer boyfriend comes home from work and stamps mud all over the carpet you've just vaccumed. And so on and so on!!! Endless.

I know! And when you think "that is it, that is the last laundry basket emptied, folded and put away" and you realise that nope, the washing machine is in fact full and there is another pile of dirty school clothes already waiting to be washed! Every DAY!

The laundry basket is never empty here either. It's never ending. Between a messy 1.5 year old, 3 year old, me, and DH (who in one day wears pajamas, work clothes, casual home clothes, work out clothes for them gym, and then pajamas again...), even if I finish all the laundry in one day we have a full load of dirty again by PM.

My house is generally tidy, but it's a different story if you walk in around noon (very messy). I always make sure to do the dishes after meals, etc, and my DS must clean up his play room if he wants to watch a show before bed (which he almost always does). Then when he watches his 20 minute night show, I try my best to get some more chores done while he's distracted so that by bed time I can have the night to myself instead of looking after a big mess.
