They dont inform social services BUT when i went to my midwife appointment they had informed my midwife and i was a bit thrown off by that as hadnt expected it. Felt i was treated a little differently they kept making sure i was ok when i didnt need help (im sure many people do though so at least they tried)

Sorry just read your further posts, you should definately go to the doctor before 6 weeks. I got so anxious when i went that i put it off and when when i got there i had no need to worry as they were so nice and helpful.

Update.......
Well I waited the 6wks and my docs appointment is tomorrow! I actually can't wait to go and finally start to get myself sorted out. I've steadily got worse in the last month and I was starting to not want to go out or even get out of bed. I go to sleep worrying and wake up worrying . My dream is to wake up in the mornings without any worry's and just be happy and excited about the day ahead.
If it wasn't for my kids I'd never have gone docs or got out of bed. Fingers crossed this is the start of a brand new happy me.

I was diagnosed with postnatal OCD on Monday. I'm not on medication yet. I'm too anxious too as I know I'll be sick whilst adjusting to them. My GP was very kind and understanding. He didn't mention anything about social services.

I hope today has gone well.

Update.......

Well I went docs Friday and he was extremely nice and understanding, I have an anxiety disorders which has caused ocd, he's put me in touch with a therapist and I'm also now on setraline, side effects ain't great but hopefully that will wear off soon, will take about a month before I notice any improvement. Also going for blood tests to rule out an under active thiroyed. So happy I finally went after years of suffering.

Hi hun. I am so glad you were able to see someone. I was on setraline for a little over a year and it helped me so much that I was able to wean off it a few months ago. I am not 100% but I am doing so well. Did both meds and therapy and both helped immensely. Hoping you notice improvements sooner.
