Did anyone go straight for a single bed not a toddler bed?

Phoebe is getting really uncomfortable in her cot now so I was thinking of moving her straight into a single bed rather than changing her cot into a toddler bed.

Has anyone else done this and how did it go?

Yep - he loves his single bed! Besides I need the cot for baby number 2 but that's not the reason I didn't bother with the toddler bed - he's so tall I wanted him to have plenty of room and a single bed fitted the bill perfectly also means you don't have to make 2 changes, one to a toddler bed and then again to a single bed.

I went straight to a single bed for ds1, but we were given a toddler bed for ds2, otherwise he would have gone straight into a single bed too.

He was about 19 months. We have a bed guard and put a few pillows on either side just in case he fell out. He's only fallen out twice and didn't even wake up!
