would you ignore this behavior?

I think Elle is going through a stage. If she falls on her bum while walking, she cries. I know she's not hurt because I help her up, she just goes on walking. I've been trying to ignore it, but I don't know if I should I don't want to the be person who always runs to the kid when the kid cries because that will turn into a bad habit for LO.

Sounds like it's just a stage, maybe she needs some reassurance. My son does that too, I just tell him "you're okay!!" and clap and sound really happy then tell him to get back up or help him up. So now when he falls or something he says "it's okay" and moves on. It's cute!

I do a similar thing. When there's that moment after she has a "nothing fall" where she's deciding whether to cry or not, I throw up my hands with a big smile and say, "Uh-oh!" in a sing-songy way. And that helps her make the decision to laugh instead of cry. And then we keep going. Seems to work!

I think early on you need to be the person who runs to everytime she falls over so she is secure iykwim.

When River falls down i say oh dear and pick her up. If she crys we have cuddles.

When Grace would fall over I used to pick her up and just say "Oh dear, be careful" but I never made a big fuss. Now when she falls unless she really hurts herself she just gets up and says "Oops I fell over!" and carries on

I will try the 'Oops you softy! up you get!!' routine at first but whilst there little if theres tears i will do hugs.
OH always says i'll make them soft but none of my others are .. sometimes the tears are frustration and shock rather than pain, they still need a hug xx

I tried "Uh-oh" and clapped today. She thought that was fun and stood up and started clapping. I think this is a good idea
