Don't know whats wrong with her{UPDATE:CROUP TURNING INTO STRIDOR}

Hi girls, im after a bit of information.
My little girl (15months) is having problems with her chest I.E horsey coughing, raspy breathing etc... We took her the dr's yesterday and they said her chest was clear but her tonsils were red and swollen but clear and her left ear was a bit inflamed....They gave her ibruprofen and calpol to take.

Anyway...I have noticed she gets worse at night and when she breaths her ribs tend to show alot...

She is looking quite pale and is quiet...although when she does try to speak its all crackly. She is tired alot and is asleep at the mo after only being awake just under an hour.
She did a full wet/dirty nappy this morning although her pooh was very running yet stringy. A bit like snot (sorry TMI)

Can anyone give any advice at all?? Thanks ladies!

Sorry hun, dont know what to say other than if your worried (which i would be if ly LO had the symptoms you described) id go and see a different doctor.
Hopefully she has a virus and it will go, has she had a temperature at all? how long has this been going on now?

She had a temp yesterday of 38.9 but when dr checked it at 5.30pm she didnt have one..
I have noticed today though that she has freezing cold skin and sweating one minute and the next she is roasting but shivering....I rang my drs and they have no appts now...I thought children should come first??xx

Its benn going on now for 3days hunx

Forgot to add that she always keeps gagging...also alot in her sleep.

The other night she was sick a little while gagging in her sleeps.....but the dr basically says theres nothing wrong....xx hmmm

Id go to another docs hun ... but if you cant get an appointment phone NHS direct up and see what they think

If you're worried just take her straight to the A&E department of your nearest childrens hospital. I find the general hospitals quite rubbish when it comes to children where as the kids hospital are really good and efficient.

hi. Hope your little one is better today. Sounds very like croup. My son had it over the weekend and had same symptoms. Its viral infection so they dont do much but I would go and get her checked again if you havent already done so. x

Hi ladies..well last night she nearlly gave me a heart attack twice and it was nearlly an ambulance job!!

She slept in our bed but OH slept in our spar room....

Anyway I was half awake when I heard her weezing and coughing, so I looked over at her and she wasn't hardly breathing, she was CHOKING!!
So I sat her up and patted her back and nothing happened so after so many different positions she ended up upside down being wacked on the back by me

She eventually came round and went back to sleep. Then half an hour later it happened again!!!! I hardly slept all night after that!!

Anyway DR's again today....demand that something gets done. Ibrufopen is just not working

Ill keep you all updated!!xxx
