He escaped...

Connah's bedroom door is quite difficult to open so i thought, great, he wont be in and out at bedtime, wandering into Jacks room when hes here etc.
At the moment we have a gate up at the top of the stairs anyway, just in case.

So this morning we woke up at 5.30am...a tad early and OH thought we were hearing things. We could here a little tapping noise on the door...
Got out of bed just to check Connah was ok and almost had a heart attack cos there he was stood there grinning saying....'I did it mummy, my got door open!'

oh god! 5.30am...really?!

So now we have to put more gates up!

gonna need one on Jack's room so he doesnt go in poking him or anything in a morning

But my worry now is will he be coming out of his room at bedtime/naptime? Hes good at going to bed but im worried that with his new found escape act he will take advantage Guess im gonna find out tonight...

Also...what can i do to stop the 5.30am wake up calls when usually he doesnt get up til6.30/7am??

We had the same with Erin, so we bought her a gro clock - its brilliant you set the time you want them to wake up. When they go to the bed you press the button and the clock turns blue with stars on it and they now its night time and they stay in bed. When you want them to get up the clock turns yellow with a big sun on it and they know its morning and can come out of their room. I was amazed with how Erin really took to it - when she goes to bed dhe says night night sun and goes to sleep, then when the sun comes out she gets out of bed and shouts its morning (8.00am). It comes with a little story book aswell which she loves.
I definately recommend it. xx
