three year old scared of the dark?

Anyone else have a three year old who is scared of the dark? If so what have you done to make them feel more secure?

Hannah's been waking up for the last week or so (highly unusual for her). Last night she wouldn't settle and we finally got her to tell us she was scared of her room. I asked if she wanted a light in there and she said yes so we put a small light in (need to go get a night light for her) which seemed to help (we had to go resettle her once more but she slept the rest of the night.

Hello. We have had big problems with this lately with Toby. He has a night light in his room and we also leave the hall light on for him as well. He kept saying he was scared of his room and that there was a ghost in there. He was constantly getting into our bed in the middle of the night and we never used too have any problems with his sleeping before. Maybe its an age thing and just a phase they are going through. xx

Erin's started this too a couple of months ago, she was coming into our room about 3 times a night which she has never done before and kept asking for her bedroom door to be left open as she didn't like the dark.

We have bought her a gro clock which shows stars at night on it and glows blue (a nightlight) and in the morning it turns yellow with a sun on it. She loves it and stays in bed all night. xx

off to look at the clock, thankyou

i've got another that hates the dark
we just leave another light on until she
comes into our room but i'm thinking a dim
light in hers might do the trick

Well I think it's a combination of the dark and nightmares

She told us she was scared of Swiper and Little Monster last night (from Dora ) so we made sure to tell her they were out of her room and locked downstairs with us and put the light in and she slept through for the first time in over a week
