Anyone else feel embarassed at a fast food restuarant?

We were out visiting the vets and the babys office one day and it all took a lot longer then expected Barry was getting hungry and despite driving around the only place we could find to eat was Mc Donalds

I vowed never to give him fast food till he was much older so I wasnt too happy with it.

regardless we went in and I ordered him aGrilled chicken club sandwich without the mayo.

for those who arent sure what it is its basically a bun, with a grilled chcken breast, large tomato slice and lettuce. he also had some apple slices (not the caramel sauce though)

I was quite pleased that I had found something healthy for himt o eat...but my god did i feel embarassed! The whole time i was sitting then I was consious of people looking over at us and then talking to eachother it was driving me crazy the whole time and I was just so glad to get out of there as fast as possible!

We've never been back to a fast food place since because id rather take him to a returant and give him "proper" food if we have to stop and eat. Thats just my preference.

I felt about an inch tall that day though like everyone in there was judging me!

We have been a few times, as long as it's not a regular occurance I think it's fine. They have chicken nuggets and either carrot sticks or fries without the salt. I don't really feel judged in there, there are usually plenty of other children there at the same time I do prefer to take them to a different restaurant or cafe with 'proper food' though.

I dont really care about other people taking their kids and i dont judge them, just for me, my 1 year old is too young to be eating fast food, when hes older Ive no doubt he'll be tucking into a cheeseburger or a pizza every now and then!

One of the biigest problems is that he has veyr little hair and a cute baby face so he looks a lot younger then he is!

Think of it this way. All those people you think are judging you in a fast food restaurant, are sitting eating in a fast food restaurant.

I'm sure they were just looking at how cute your LO is.

my son goes to macdonalds nearly once every week (i dont take him if he doesnt mention it!) Its usually his 'treat' for trying hard in french. I personally wouldnt eat that junk but he pretty much only likes it as he can get a toy. I never feel judged, hes on the small side, he eats very healthily the rest of the time and im pretty sure its not damaging his inteligence (as claimed in the news!)

We were in Burger King a few weeks ago for the first time and Sophie had chicken nuggets, apple slices and milk. I did say to DH that I hope people don't think we let her eat like that all the time.
