Hi,

Is anyone experiencing separation anxiety/needy behaviour from their toddler who is going from toddlers to pre-school at nursery? My daughter recently turned 3 and nursery are slowly encouraging her to go to pre-school class. Some days she does go other days she won't which is fine by both us and the staff at the nursery she goes to. The only slight change I see occurring is my daughter has suddenly become very needy and clingy wanting mommy to do this and that with her all the time. I wouldn't mind on a short term basis but I have a 7 month old to look after too and sometimes it does get very tiring when the little one needs to be breastfed and the eldest is so tired she refuses bath time with daddy and wants mommy to do it instead. Daddy is good in that he will help out when it comes to our youngest, i.e. Bath times. I try to give our eldest more hugs and kisses and 'us' time but she still pushes it to the extent that 'baby can't share mommy'.

She even refuses to go to nursery some days and says she wants to stay with mommy and baby, which is a first since she usually goes quite happily. Hoping it is a phase...
