potty training straight to the toilet?

i have a question...

maisie done her first wee on the toilet a few weeks ago. Were in my mum and dads holiday home atm so obviously its all on one floor so we can get to the toilet easy.

I havnt been doing the naked potty training here, i tried it but she wee'd on the chair and on the bed and on the floor and my mom and dad just kept moaning at her so i stopped ive just been saying when you need a wee tell mommy but keeping her nappy on. Shes done it occasionally but obviously with her nappy on she just wees in there.

i know for a fact shes ready now and i go home on sunday so im going to stay in and get it done. Only thing is she doesnt like pottys and she goes straight onto the toilet but my toilets upstairs. Does it make it harder?

Do i just keep saying tell mommy when you want a wee and taking her upstairs regularly to try and go? I was thinking about getting a new potty that might get her interested a bit but tbh if she goes straight to the toilet its one step ahead isnt it.

We went straight to the toilet, once Ruby did her first wee on the toilet I didn't go back to daytime nappies. I put them on her to go out in at the start (we never did the whole staying in thing.) I think she would wee on a potty if that was all that was available but I'm glad we went straight to the toilet as I know she will use any toilet when out without a problem, don't need to carry a potty round with me or anything.

Yeah i did think its one step ahead with using the toilet so was quite happy about that. Tbh i was dreading the staying in for a week or two lol so ill just leave her nappy off during the house and put it on whenevre we go out.

Did u just keep asking her to tell you when she needed a wee or did you keep taking her to the toilet every so often? x

Day 1, both, day 2, she started asking so I just went with that with the odd reminder. She doesn't really like me asking though!

I only stayed in for the first day, after that I brought him out for short trips in big boy pants, getting him to go for a pee before we went out. We only ever had one or two accidents while we were out.

We didn't go straight to the toilet but he uses both toilet and potty now with no problems. If she doesn't like the potty I would go straight to toilet. Best to keep it a pleasant experience, the last thing you want is to be fighting with them about it!

Chloe more or less went straight to the toilet too - sooo much handier when out and about as don't need to take anything. I had to ask Chloe all the time at first, and even if she said no I would sit her on the loo every hour or 2 just so she got used to it.

Now she just takes herself there and says mummy i dont' need help go and sit down lol.

Probably a couple of weeks - I got her one of the little stool things that she uses to stand on to brush her teeth - she also uses it to get on the loo, every now and again she says mummy help me but usually she just calls me when shes done.

If you want any tips or have any questions feel free to ask hun x

no potty for us either, I think they are disgusting and can't bear the thought of using one.
no offence to anyone who does, they just make me queasy.
we have a seat insert for the toilet for pooping, and my son stands up to pee.
I have a step in the bathroom for getting onto the toilet and getting to the sink to wash hands.
The only thing is with your toilet being upstairs that might be a problem. Depends how long it takes her to get up the steps. We never stayed in I just put a diaper on when we went out, took a bit longer that way but it worked for me.

No potties here either - straight to the loo. Like the others, I started by asking him frequently if he wanted to try to have a wee, and within a couple of days he was asking me if he could go

I used to give him loads of drinks so we'd have lots of opportunities to practice!
