Does this look like Chicken Pox? *UPDATE POST 9*

Madeline hasn't been to well the past day or two. I had to get her early from nursery on Friday as she was crying her eyes out and holding her tummy, as if she was getting horrible stomach cramps. She had a dry nappy all day, but had a big wee that night. She wanted some banana so gave her a bit and she was really sick once. She kept getting these pains though, frequently. Every 20 minutes or so she was waking up really crying, and would fling herself on me, drawing her legs right up to her tummy and writhing round. It would pass and she would go straight back to sleep.

This morning she seemed fine - necked her milk, had some cereal - then had this really frightened look on her face and doubled over holding her tummy...before projectile vomiting over the whole front room. She had a few tummy pains this morning, but has been pretty okay the rest of today. But then tonight I found a spot on her chest, and I think it looks like a chicken pox spot. It's like a little blister. Her cousins both have chicken pox, but she hasn't seen too much of them so pretty sure she wouldn't have caught it from them. I think it does look like one...but I've checked her and this is the only mark she has.

What do you ladies reckon?

Poor Zach hope he is better soon - hate this time of year with all the nasties going round. The projectile vomit Madeline did today was pretty amazing - went right across the room!

Maybe she will wake up with them everywhere tomorrow then! I think it definitely looks like a chicken pox spot, just thought it was strange there was only one of them!

That's what I though Isil - maybe she's been unlucky and picked up a tummy bug and chicken pox. It's just the one spot though so don't know if it is even chicken pox. I am resisting the urge to go and check her for more spots...

Could it be a water infection, and the one spot just a coincidence? My brother had chicken pox over Christmas, and it was definitely more than one spot. The lack of wee and the stomach pains sound more like something bladder-related to me. Take her to the docs.

Yeah - we were at the docs on Friday, and she has had wet nappies since then so that's okay.

And as of this morning, no more spots and she's as bright as a button!

Okay - she has got one more spot by her foo that's the same as the one I posted. Can you get chickenpox and just have two spots?? Also she was sick again tonight - but has otherwise been fine...don't know what's going on!!

I think you can get chicken pox with just a couple of spots - but a few months ago Sophie was a bit unwell, came out in spots all over her tummy and I was convinced it was chicken pox but they disappeared after 2 days. My cm told me that viral infections can cause rashes?xx
