OT - so upset by what DH just said

DH went to the pub for a few drinks & to watch football earlier. He was meant to be getting a lift back at 7 so that he could help me around the house this evening getting everything ready for tomorrow as we'll both be at work then. I normally get everything ready myself but as I needed to get a few hours of work done tonight as well, DH said he'd help.

He finally turned up 2 and half hours late & very drunk. I had finished sorting everything out for the week and was just starting my work. He kept pestering me asking to same stupid questions over and over and after about 15 minutes of this I got quite annoyed. So I picked my laptop up and was going to go work upstairs instead. He then told me how rude I was going upstairs so I rather bluntly told him that I was going upstairs as I still had two hours of f***ing work to do and I wasn't able to concentrate with him asking Q's over and over. I know I shouldn't have lost my temper at him but don't think I deserved him to then tell me what a disgusting woman I was and to think I call myself a mother He continued to shout at me telling me what an awful example I'm setting and what a bad Mum I am. I never swear in front of my son (he was alseep upstairs) and always try to put him first in every way. So upset that my DH thinks that little of me as a Mum.

Sorry, have finished ranting now!

What an arse. It probably was the alcohol talking but don't let him use the drink as an excuse. He needs a few days in the dog house!

Good god - just for one f word? Pots and kettles springs to mind - getting bladdered and blowing out your responsibilities at home isn't exactly a shining example of parenthood is it. But as above put it down to too much alcohol xx

Wanker!!!

Ignore him, it's amazing what blokes say and do when they have had a drink.

He has no room to talk, he is pissed while you have been looking after your child

Drink talking.... Assuming he is normally reasonable, talk it through with him tomorrow.

In the mean time, ignore the drunk idiot

I agree with the other he needs a few days in the dog house! Even if it was drink talking that is a very nasty & hurtful thing to say! Very unprovoked as well!! I'm sure you do a fab job as a mum! Xx

Thanks Ladies.

He conveniently had no memory of getting home last night and to begin with refusedto believe he said it. Even though it was the drink talking he'll be in the dog house a while longer. Shame I've barely slept all night as was so angry & upset, just got to deal with a very clingy toddler now & then attempt to do a day's work!

not for a second saying your OH is a bad dad but, who's the one who came home with a child in bed upstairs whilst he was drunk? Who started shouting & screaming when LO was in bed? It was definitely the booze talking, but if anyone was setting a bad example its him hun xx
