My Lo has just started doing this, I have been leaving her and just trying to ignore her I am lucky the last few times I have been at home or at my mums but I have to walk away and leave her in the room to calm herself down. If I talk to her it makes her worse
Does he stop and listen as soon as he hears you- or does he continue to throw a tantrum?
Have you tried covering is mouth? Not in a mean way- but like a mute button to get his attention? I put a finger over Nolan's lips and "shh" him- then calmly tell him what I need to. If that doesn't work, I walk away until he is done.
I tell him I can't understand him when he's screaming and ask him to talk nicely, then I totally ignore and remove my attention until he stops screaming, the instant he stops screaming I return my attention to him and am all smiles and ask him what he wants, if he starts screaming again I turn my back again, and then return my attention again as soon as he stops. He does get the message quickly and he rarely screams now unless he's quite over-tired.
