14 month old wont eat solid food!

my daughter who is 14 months now still refuses to eat most solid foods. She will make a horrible face and gag and almost puke until she either can get it out of her mouth. I dont know what to do! She does eat some things, but not very much at all. I havent been to worried because I figure when she is ready she will start, but I am starting to get kind of concerned now. Anyone with experience with this situation?

Actually, I know a girl (a friend of a friend of a friend, lol) who's son can not tolerate food, and is 14 months. You need to get your LO evaluated by a healthcare professional. It could be as simple as a sensory intolerance that your LO will grow out of, or more complicated as a medical issue (this girl's son had to have surgery to correct the problem). I know that doesn't answer much, but, I would look into it a little bit more. HTH

thanks, the doctor has said if shes not eating solids by 15 months he wants her to see a speech therapist to test her swallowing. But she seems to do just fine with the very few solid things she does eat. I think its a texture thing....trying to avoid any more doctors if possible!! But if its neccissary then we will do it
