Anyone's LO on a dairy free diet?

Hi everyone, i hope someone can give me some advice.

Jacob has had 2 bouts of diarhea in the last month, i took him to the doc this morning as its just not getting better and he advised a dairy free diet for 5 days to let the lining of his gut recover.

My problem is, what to do about milk? He still has 9oz of formula at bedtime and another 9oz bottle at about 3am. Theres no way hes going to be able to go cold turkey and he wont accept juice or water either ( too smart for his own good)

I have seen soy based formula or soy milk on the internet, but as with most things, googling it has scared me a bit.

Someone please help!, god i wish id asked the doctor this morning!

Thanks in advance!

Maria is on a dairy free (amongst other things) diet and she has oat milk instead of cows milk. We tried a few different milk alternatives and oat milk is the one she likes best. Its not really sweet and sickly like some of the other ones out there.

Hi Scarlett, there is a great soya milk that alpro do for kids over 12 months. Alpro soya +1. You will find it in the longlife milk section, or the free from section in most big supermarkets. It is fortified with calcium and vitamins and tastes quite nice. He may not want to drink it as it tastes different from his own milk but it is worth a try! Hope he gets better very soon as I know how stressful these things can be! x

Try almond milk! It's really healthy -- made of crushed almonds. Loads of calcium.
