It was only this time last year that I was 34 weeks pregnant and feeling like poo I was diagnosed with pre-clampsia on the morning of Thursday 31st March and had an EMCS within 30 minutes.

My lovely husband wrote this poem for me today and I just had to share with you ladies. I admit to crying but of course happy tears

A Year in the Life of Millie Maunder by her Dad.

It was a year ago today when you came in to our lives
A tiny little bundle March 31st, 12.45
A bit of a surprise for your Dad and Mum
Who'd made plans for a curry and a Poppadum.

The doctors and nurses of the GNP
All made a big fuss of our lovely Millie
You started us off with a bit of a scare
But then all we could see was big blue eyes, not much hair!

Your mummy was resting in her hospital bed
You'll have to wait to see baby the nurses all said
But your mum is a fighter of that you can be sure
And a couple of hours later she was heading out the door

And so there we all were Mum, Dad and Millie makes three
Leaving that hospital with our hearts full of glee
Excited and happy and not quite sure what to do
Your first trip in the world and you slept right on through.

Well a year has past and what can we say
It's been filled with bottles and nappies and your first Christmas Day!
You met Grandma's and Grandpa's that's Bill, Pat, Jean and Chris
Who you can always be sure will love you to bits.

You've got a couple of teeth to go with that beautiful smile
And you'll be talking and walking, no doubt, in a while
Daddy gives you your bath and puts you to bed
But only after your favourite Poohsticks is read

And Mummy, well Mummy where do we start?
She simply surrounds you with love with every beat of her heart.

Her she is in NICU, i think about 3 days old and one recently. How she has changed! xx
