I take cups & some bath toys with us, Omar likes to stand in the kids pool to play with his cups. I dress & undress him outside by the pool. It's warm here. I give him a shower outside, then I dress him when we're done. Then he goes into his buggy, I take a quick shower outside, then we go to the changing room. I quickly dry myself & change & I take a proper shower at home.

Most of the time we go to the pool downstairs in the building, so it's easier for us.

I think it should be fine, just make sure you have everything ready, change for the lockers etc, and wear clothes that are easy to put on and off. Also definitely bring snacks and a drink, they will be hungry when they get out of the pool. I don't bother with a proper shower at the pool, just a quick rinse and have a proper shower at home. I wrap Thomas up in a large towel and he will sit and eat his snacks while I get myself dried and changed. By that time, he's pretty much dry and I can just get him dressed.

I used to take the buggy and get him ready first then park him in it so he couldn't wander off, and the same with when we come out. I get him dressed first then sit him down with a snack and a drink while I get changed. I don't bother with the buggy now as he's quite content to sit there and chat to me while he eats his raisins and waits for me to sort myself out.

Our pool has a playpen in the changing rooms too, some people put their kids in there while they get changed.
We are allowed to take buggies in with us too and I do the same, top tips would be:

get them changed first - then have something to occupy them with, after the swim is easy - drink and snack for us and I take raisins cos it takes him forever to eat them!!!!

have clear guidelines, make sure they can follow basic instructions before you brave it, Harry knows that he has to stay with me all the time and not wander off,

Go for it! you're probably more worried about doing it than you need to be, and the more you go, the easier it gets

Seriously its the only thing that I really really feel I miss out on having twins there is no way I can take them alone - and that is a really big thing for me.

My two love swimming!

I always wear my costume under my clothes....it saves time to get changed.

I will always make sure that i take the towels out with us too, so that they can get into it when they get out and always have our shampoo etc on the top so everything is organised to do.

Make sure you are near a pen, they can be life savers and agree about taking a toy with you too.

Have fun!

I take Fran swimming on my own all the time - don't have a choice really because DH doesn't swim and he's not a member of the gym we are!

What I do when we get there is change her into her costume then strap her in the buggy while I sort myself out. After we get out I do the same - get her dressed then put her in the buggy while I dress myself.

Never had any problems and she's a very wriggly girl who likes running around!
