Some religious people will find it offensive. They would feel extremely uncomfortable hearing the Lord's name in vain as it is Sacred to them.

You can substitute though. Like "Holy Cow" or "Oh my goodness" or one of my friend would say "Oh my stars!"

I think there is much worse things they could say.

TBH I don't like to hear LO's saying it and I have to be really self-aware about cursing around the kids. It is hard sometimes. I was once basically forced off a Strictly Come Dancing forum for putting "for god's sake" in a post. Some mod told me to not swear. I left because it was totally ridiculous on a adult forum.

I don't like tegan saying it, but what comes out other folks' kids mouths doesn't bother me in the slightest if I'm honest...

We taught her to say "oh my goodness" and it is really cute when she says it

Yeah that's why I was abit worried about him saying it. I mean I know were everyone's coming from because to some people it can be offensive but because I'm not religious and my family isn't I guess I just saw it as non offensive and the fact that he's only a toddler and hasn't got a clue what he's saying but I'll def try and repeat back to him oh dear thanks ladies. He just sounds so freaking cute when he says it and it's not like am full blown god it's gah but I took it as god iykwim. xx

This is exactly what I have done, my MIL is religious and the thought of Dec saying Oh My God around her is not good.

I wouldnt find it offensive but I know some people would as it is taking the Lords name in vain.

Oh bless him. I wouldnt find it offensive but I dont particularly like it either and would encourage Millicent to say oh dear instead. Admittedly a few times i've been peed off and gone 'for gods sake' but I feel awlful afterwards.

I sometimes say that and lately Ihsan says it too, not alot not even every day but if he is scared of a bee or something he will say it. I don't mind him saying it really, we do believe in God and we do turn to God if we are scared so I'm fine with it! I don't encourage it either or react when he says it though. When he is old enough to understand I will explain what it means.

I am just glad he doesn't use the language DH uses at times!
