Thanks everyone.

I will certainly let Freya help me with setting up her room then. I was thinking it would be good to get it all ready for her but maybe not then.

Should i stick with her cot? I was going to set up her new bed but that would mean apart from the toys and her duvet and pillow, everything will have changed.

Yes once the carpets are in and the builders have stopped doing the messy renovations to the old part of the house we can let her visit more and get her used to it.

i would keep some things as close as possible we were about to go from cot to bed but didn't and it has helped a little to delay it they do need a security blanket also on thing we have been doing is to get her to play n her room during the day time which seems to be helping a bit x

Thanks Leffy, yes i might delay the cot to bed transition then as i think the cot will be a comfort to her as her new room is so much bigger than her old one, she might feel a bit lost.

Yeah, I would keep the cot for a while. It will be a bit of security for her.

We moved when Eamon was 20 months and he isn't verbal yet but he wasn't pleased and made it known for the first few days. After that he seemed to just accept it.

we move in 2 weeks, i'm going to set sarah's room up exactly as it is just now i think. the only difference is it won't be yellow!

i had thought about making the transission from sleeping bags to duvet at this time as she's nearly out grown them and i don't want to buy any more but i'm going to stick with them.

i would say though, we stay at in laws or scout camp quite regularly and she always settles fine so i'm not too worried (wishful thinking?!)

good luck!

I would personally go straight to the toddler bed if you're comfortable with it, just play it by ear. Aisling went from sleeping on a mattress on the floor in the room I shared with her to being in a toddler bed in a room on her own and she got on absolutely fine
