Re-occurring illness and nursery advice please

My dd wa suppose to start nursery on 27th feb however after her 2 hour settling in visit ended up coming home with scarlet fever!!! Given anti biotics for 10 days, after 4 stays she seemed much better so I took her for 2 nd settling visit, 6 days later , shes refused (most) food for 4 days & hardly drank for 2,so i'm back at docs, dehydration & severe tonsillitis, more anti biotics for 7 days, 9 days later I'm back at docs as she still has tonsillitis . To cut long story short she was on constant anti biotics for nearly 6 weeks, and didn't go to nursery at all during that time as doc told me not to send her.

She finally went back to nursery last Monday (week ago) and guess what yesterday I'm back down docs dd is back on anti biotics and has tonsillitis AGAIN!!!

Is this usual for nursery or have I chosen a relaly bad one. Dd really seems to enjoy it there. Should I change nursery????

Sounds like a run of bed luck tbh. If she's not been around lots of kids before she is going to pick everything up that's going around at 1st. Tom started at 8 months and from then up till about 18 months he was always going down with something that he'd also give to us. He had 3 lots of antibiotics in the 1st 3 months.

Since 18 months though he's been much better and apart from picking up chicken pox at 20 months he hasn't had anything but mild colds even over this winter. His immune system has obviously strengthened up alot from a yr ago.

Oliver hasn't started nursery yet but we used to love going to a group called jo jingles but we had to stop going as he would come down with a really nasty bout of tonsilitis, end up in hospital, get better and once he was better we would go again and lo and behold a few days later tonsilitis again. This happened 4 times until i decided to stop taking him there. I think some kids just pick things up easier and in a nastier dose. Im sure it would have settled down if I carried on taking him but with it just being a hobby thing I decided to stop it. Im sure her immune system will pick up soon and she'll stop catching things, good luck xxxx
